Workcamps/ trade camps (SAIC project)

The Safe and Inclusive Cities (SAIC 2.0) project has rolled out theoretical trainings to ensure that young people are exposed to practical activities of their chosen trades. Thus, the workcamps are part of the process to expose young people to the practical processes of trades where they spend some time with masters of craft or mentors who take them through the paces of the trades. The considered view of the organization is that this adds value to the skills trainings that young people undertake as the workcamps set the tone for continuous learning for young people as they interact with the mentors. The various trades include, Beauty Therapy, Deco and Catering, Poultry, Wielding, Carpentry, Panel Beating, Hairdressing, Waste management, Creative Arts, Baking and Garment construction.
