Luveve water crisis
Yesterday Bulawayo Vendors and Traders Association (BVTA), Community Podium, Bulawayo Progressive Residents Association (BPRA), Women Institute for Leadership Development (WILD) and Amakhosikazi Media, as part of a team despatched by the newly set up Community Working Group on Good Governance, went for a fact finding mission on the Luveve Water Crisis that has claimed several lives. The delegation visited some households who lost their relatives to the claimed “typhoid” outbreak allegedly caused by contaminated tap water. The families are living in constant fear and their situation is heart wrenching. Their account of what they are going through leaves one in tears. Those still recovering are in a despairing state. The Working Group will issue a comprehensive statement by end of the week on its findings and recommendations.
