BVTA proposes residents and stakeholders Indaba over water problems

Bulawayo Vendors and Traders Association Director Micheal Ndiweni has proposed an Indaba to be conducted by the residents, stakeholders and the council to address the water and service delivery in the city.

“Faced with this crisis in Bulawayo I propose to residents and stakeholders Iindaba to try and extricate the city from the jaws of its demise. This meeting must do the following: Demand a report on how African Development Bank and other donors were used,) Select a Team of people to play an advisory tole to the elected councilors on city development related matters,” he said.

“Institute an investigation to companies that were given contracts to refurbish the water reticulation system and whether the companies did a thorough job. Engage political parties on candidates they second for public office. The advisory team to play liaison between residents and the local authority.”

He said what else do you think this meeting must do?,

“I am aware that it may be difficult for people to meet physical due to COVID19 I am prepared to assist in mobilising resources for some people to connect through ZOOM or Blue Jeans,” he said.
